MP2626 PMID pin

Hi Team,

I am developing a system with a battery, adaptor, charger, and boost converter for a lighting system.
I selected the MP2626 for a 1-Cell Li-ion battery.
The block diagram of the part of the system is like this:

There are 3 questions here, which I could not find a clear answer in the datasheet.

  1. Did I connect the booster to the PMID pins correctly?
  2. There is an adaptor connected to the input and it charges the battery, what is the voltage of the PMID pin while the battery is charging?
  3. If there is no battery connected to the battery charger and just the adaptor is connected, does the system still work? I mean does the internal MOSFET connect the input to PMID pins while the input voltage is present?

Thanks,
Farhad

Hi Farhad,

Yes if OTG is not being used, you can use in that way, however, the charging current may be reduced.
When Vin is in the operating range, PMID will follow Vin as the FET will be on. When it exceeds OVP, this FET will be turned off.

Best Regards,
Yu
