Voltage Tracking DC DC

MPQ4570 datasheet says “When SS is in the range of 0.9V to 1.9V, it overrides the REF as reference voltage of the error amplifier” Does this mean I can use it for input from the supply to track if as FB divider?

Not familiar with this chip, but this tracking feature on the SS pin is becoming pretty common across the semiconductor industry and I sometimes do use that exactly as a second FB input. I am guessing yes. So for instance the CC loop of a CC/CV charger could control the current via the SS pin while the CV loop would be controlled by the FB pin.

Thanks jshannon Not a feedback but a target or reference input.

Hello @Rich.Armitage ,

The MPQ4570 SS description is meant to inform the user how SS is being achieved in this specific part. This pin should only have a Css to adjust soft start time, it should not be used as an input for sensing the output voltage like the FB pin.
