Subject: Virtual Bench Pro v4: Merging single-device configurations into a multi-device project
Hello MPS Support Team,
I am running into a workflow limitation with Virtual Bench Pro v4 and would appreciate your guidance on how to combine project files.
Hardware Setup
-
I am bringing up a custom board featuring three I2C/PMBus modules: two MPM54524 and one MPM3695-20.
-
I2C communication is functioning perfectly. Virtual Bench Pro successfully scans the bus and identifies all three devices at their unique addresses.
The Issue
-
I have previously configured each regulator individually using separate evaluation boards and saved their configurations as individual
.spec(XML) project files. -
When I scan my new custom board, the software creates a new multi-device project. However, I cannot find a way to import my existing single-device
.specconfigurations into the individual chips within this new device tree. -
Opening an old single-device project clears the multi-device view, and creating a new multi-device project forces me to enter all parameters from scratch.
Questions
-
Is there a built-in feature to import or load a saved
.specconfiguration into a specific IC within an active multi-device project? -
If the GUI does not support this natively, is there a recommended workaround or documentation for merging the XML
.specfiles manually without corrupting the project structure?
Thank you for your time and support.
Best regards,
Stefan
