Can I use the MP2667 buck-boost regulator with a battery that does not have a thermistor? Nothing in the datasheet explicitly says whether NTC is mandatory or optional. And if so, do I ground NTC, pull up, or something else entirely?
Hello min, yes you can, the NTC is mostly for protection, if your battery has a problem and heats up too much it will stop the charger, is mostly up to you.
But you need to tell the IC that the temperature is good, otherwise it wont charge, just put a optional resistor and pads for the NTC if you ever need it.
That´s how i do on MP2759. I can populate either the 10k(OPT) resistor or add the NTC.
Just look at the datasheet for the value, it´s probably 10k but better to check, it´s the same resistance as the NTC.
