Technical Inquiries for part#MP2386GG-Z - QDBFFE9

Dear Team,

Could you please see the inquiries from the customer regarding part#MP2386GG-Z and advise? Thanks.

As per the customer, the PG pin of part needs pull-up resistance. If there is no pull up registance, the part can have an excessive and large output due to no working UVLO, OVP and OCP?
The customer wants to know the specification for pull up voltage of PG pin.
Also he would like to know the pull up resistance can connect with internal VCC pin. Thank you.

Best Regards,
Dan Lee

Hi David,
The PG pin is pulled low when certain events are initiated. Those events are OCP, UVLO enable or input, or the OTP (over temp protection).

The resistor typically utilized to connect PG pin to VCC is 100kohms.

Hello Nouman,
Thank you for your help. Could you please review additional questions from the customer below and advise? Thanks.

The customer would like to know about OVP.
Based on datasheet, the customer found if the target voltage is over 130%, HS-Fet would be off by operating OVP. For example, after the customer sets 5.0V output voltage, if over than 6.5V was output due to unknown reason, OVP can be operated or not. Thank you.

Best Regards,
Dan Lee

Hi David,
Yes, the OVP will protect the circuit.

Please refer to the captures below - The FB voltage is compared with Vref, depending on conditions where FB<Vref then HS FET is toggled.

Please refer to the datasheet device operation section on how OVP is monitored. For better understanding, refer to the functional block diagram capture below.

Kind Regards,
Nouman
