Do MPS have one replacement for the ST’s IC L5991 regarding up 50% dutty cycle and other offline controller features IC? Better for Forward Converter/Controller up 300W ?
Any added document welcome.
Jorge
Hello Jorge,
Welcome to the MPS Forums!
I would recommend the following ICs for this application:
- HR1211 | Multi-Mode PFC and Current Mode LLC Controller With Programmable Audible Noise Reduction Control | MPS (capable of up to 600W)
- HR1213 | Multi-Mode PFC and Current Mode LLC Combo Controller Supporting both AC and DC Inputs with Configurable Bias Options | MPS (programmable PG and Improved light load efficiency from HR1211)
- HR1275 | CrM/DCM PFC and Current Mode LLC Digital Combo Controller, Configurable via UART Interface | MPS (contact MPS sales directly via a ticket for more info about this IC).
Here is the contact link: Contact MPS - Contact
If there are any follow up questions regarding more details for your application, let me know on this thread. I would highly encourage the HR1211 as a baseline to start since the HR1213 has the same specs. There is an EVB for the HR1211, so this would be ideal for evaluation as well.
Hope this provided some insight.
Best,
Krishan
Dear Krishan. Thanks for your answer, but at first glance, looking into all pointed out datasheets, I did not realized how could I apply those IC for my application, unless if I decide to build the converter using the LLC topology, instead of Forward.
Could you comment?
Regards.
Jorge
Apologies Jorge,
Many of our AC/DC ICs that support 300W are of an LLC topology. Our Flyback ICs have applications that run up to 240W at the maximum. Should have included this initially and asked if you were flexible on your target topology.
