Hello,
is it possible to connect Pin 5, 7 and 8 of HF500-7 to ground. Of course, several function as the overcurrent protection or soft start is not possible. But will the IC work?

Hello! It is not recommended to pull these pins to GND. SOURCE is the input of the primary current-sense signal. B/O pin is heavily involved w/ the fault protection of the IC. IC may be damaged if fault protection is not present. TIMER will latch the IC if it is pulled down.
