Request for Design Recommendation – 150W Isolated Power Supply

Hello Team,

We are currently developing a low-cost, compact, isolated design with auto-grading capabilities, and we’re using the LM5185 controller in our initial prototype.

However, we would like to confirm whether this design can be scaled to support up to 150W output power with the following specifications:
Input Voltage: 24V to 100V
Output Voltage:15V
Output Current:10–12A
Output Power:150W

If the LM5185 is not suitable for this power level, we would appreciate your recommendation for an alternative solution that meets our requirements.

Hello, welcome to the MPS Forums.

Here are some parts that I can reccomend for this application:

• HFC0650 | High-Frequency, Quasi-Resonant Flyback Controller | MPS
  (AC Input, 220W capable)

• MPXG2100 | NovoOne Family, All-in-One, SR ZVS Flyback Regulators | MPS
  (AC Input, 240W capable)

• HFC0502 | Fixed-Frequency, Flyback Controller with Low Standby Power Consumption for Both AC and DC Input Applications | MPS (AC and DC Input, but this IC has a higher voltage threshold, 120W capable)

I suppose there are compromises with all of these ICs, but I figured I would show them here for evaluation in case something here works.

Dear Team,
Since the system is battery-powered, we are not aiming for high input wattage. Instead, please suggest a solution that offers low input power with high output efficiency, based on the following requirements:

Input Voltage:24V to 100V
Output Voltage:15V
Output Current:10–12A
Output Power:150W
