I am looking for a buck-boost converter for an automotive infotainment display.
Specs,
VIN- 12v nominal with sub 12v during cranking and voltage spikes from transients and load dumps
V out- 12v
V out current- max 2 amps, maybe 3 for extra options later on. I was looking at the MP4245.
Would this be a good IC for the task or should I be looking at a different IC. I dont need any i2c features or USB PD, but it looks like i can still use the MP4245 without talking to it over i2c.
I appreciate the guidance!
Hello ahawn615,
I think the option you have selected MP4245 fits your specs. Since you mentioned automotive infotainments, I would also look into our automotive buck- boost the MPQ8875A or the MPQ8873 depending on your current requirements.
