Question regarding I2C address and firmware of MPF52002

Dear MPS representatives,

I have purchased MEZS7-PDPOWERBANK-MP2651 from MPS official store and tried to wire it up with my PC and had some issues. Here are my questions.

1. Do I need an license for Virtual Bench Pro 4.0 in order to test MEZS7-PDPOWERBANK-MP2651? The manual clearly states that I have to choose MPF52002-0001 from the drop down menu of “add new device” but there are none.

2. What is the I2C address for MPF52002? I tried to manually send I2C command to MPF52002 but I couldn’t find the address from the datasheet of MEZS7-PDPOWERBANK-MP2651 nor from the datasheet of MPF52002.

3. Do I have to upload a firmware when I purchase MPF52002 as an standalone chipset? I do understand that the appropriate firmware is already applied to MPF52002 on MEZS7-PDPOWERBANK-MP2651 but curious whether it is also true when I buy MPF52002 alone without EV board. If so, do you provide me the binary or source code of the firmware for MPF52002?

Sincerely,
Woosuk Suh

Hi Woosuk,

I will reach out to PL about these issues.

Thanks
