Not connecting E-PAD and NC Pin to GND on MP8008

Hi.
I have two question.

1- Q : What happens when the exposure pad(E-PAD) is connected to the VSS?
MP8008 Datasheet - PCB Layout Guidelines
MP8008 Datasheet says [4.Connect the exposed pad to GND. It cannot be connected to VSS.]
Looking at the EV8008 (Figure 2: Top Layer), I think the VSS is connected to the E-PAD
What happens?

2 - Q : What happens if the NC pin is not connected to GND? (NC Pin is Floating state. Not Connect)
MP8008 Datasheet - PIN FUNCTIONS
MP8008 Datasheet says [Not connected internally. Connect NC to GND during layout.]
But I didn’t connect the NC pins to anything(floating state) by mistake on my part.
What happens?

  1. The Vss is not connected to EPAD. Please refer to the schematic for connections.
