I want to supply a ESP32 in a motorcycle which is driven by a battery voltages ( 6V or 12V). So the input voltage can be between 5V and 18V. It needed max. 1A.
I used the MP1584EN for testing and it works well but it is out of date.
Which chip can I use for it?
Hi @dirkrudolph,
Thank you for posting to the MPS Technical Forum! The MP2338 is the recommended alternative for the MP1584, but we have other options that would also work for your requirements. What output voltage are you operating at, and are there any other specific features you need from the converter?
Best,
Isabella
The output voltage is 3.3V. It should be stable and cheap. I also tried the TI TPS54335ADDAR, but I measuered 34V input voltage at the transient when I connected the 16.8V lithium akku. After it the chip exploded.
On the MP1584EN it isn’t the case.
Thank you for the clarification. Some converters that can handle a 34V transient are the MP9943, the MP4423, and the MP2263.
Thank you for the suggestions.
