MPQ8875 startup behavior

I have a question on the startup behavior of the MOQ8875. If I have the PWRCVTEN bit (register 01h, bit 7) programmed to 0, so the default behavior via the registers is converter disabled, What will happen when I bring the EN pin from low to high? Will the IC follow the register that is set to disable the converter, or will the IC immediately start switching and providing Vout even though the control bit is cleared?

I would like for the IC to keep Vout off when i bring EN high, so i can start communicating via i2c first and only enable the output when I am ready for it, via i2c. Thanks in advance!

Hi @ahawn615 ,

If PWRCVTEN is set to 1, then EN should have priority, i.e. EN = low should turn-off the MPQ8875, even if PWRCVTEN is set to 1.

If PWRCVTEN is set to 0, then the MPQ8875 should remain off, regardless of if EN = low or high.
