reading and writing register values via VB 3.0 to MPQ4241 is problematic. Sometimes I can write reg values to the part but can never get it save to nv memory.
What’s wrong?

Can you give me the register values for ID1 (34h) and Status1(30h)?
Were you at least able to program it once?
0x30 (STATUS) = 0x04
0x34 (ID1) = 0x00

Based on the value of status1 register it seems that this has already been programmed once. I don’t think that you will be able to program nvm again. You will have to replace it with a fresh -0000 that has the OTP_PAGE bit with a value of 0.
Tried a new chip that reads 0x34 (ID1) = 0x00 and 0x30 (STATUS)=0x00, changed reg values and pressed the write button. Still not saved in nv memory. Is there a write protect somewhere that need to be unset?
