MPQ4232-AEC1 Quiescent Current and FB Pin

In the MPQ4232 Quiescent Current datasheet, it says 12V@130uA when i2c operation is disabled and EN is enabled.

  1. If I set I2C_EN to on using the ADDR setting, does the Quiescent current remain at 130uA or does it increase to 900uA?
If it increases to 900uA, is there a way to reduce it further under 12V@300uA?
otherwise, Are there any similar chips with lower Quiescent current?

  2. The explanation about the FB pin in the datasheet is insufficient. Could you elaborate on it?

  3. I’m a bit disappointed with the Vin range, so I’m also curious about the MPQ4232A-AEC1. When is it scheduled to be released?

I’m also curious if there is an EVB board for the MPQ4232 & plans to support Designer Online.

Hi,
Thank you for utilizing MPS Forum,

  1. I2C utilizes internal logic supply, therefore Iq current will be high when enabling the communication.
  2. The explanation of Vout_Command help further on the FB pin. Please refer to page 27 of datasheet. The ratio of Vout / VFB is 10. This should help select appropriate resistance values. You may select 0.5V for VFB.
  3. What is the Vin range you are intending to implement for your system? This would help narrow search your buckboost application.

Kind Regards,
Nouman

  1. If the high Iq current is due to the I2C logic supply, would the Iq be 130uA when setting the ADDR to 07h to set the VOUT to the default output?

For dark current satisfied condition purposes, a 5V output is all that’s needed.I2C functionality is not required.

  2. Vin(MAX) > 30V

Thank you for your answer.
