Hi,
We are using the MPQ3367GRE-AEC LED driver IC and we need to know that is it possible to use I2C alone for brightness control without using the PWM input??
Becoz our primary goal is to control led brightness using I2C alone and without PWM.
So give me a solution if possible
Hi @dhanush ,
PWM input is required for dimming. Dimming cannot be done through I2C alone, changing some register values cannot change the effective RMS current sent to the LEDs.

Jonathan
Hello @Jonathan.Hidalgo
I gave PWM input signal but the IC is not starting to boost up.
the current on the out is very low and VIN voltage(12v) is same as the VOUT voltage(12v)
What will be the basic requirements for the IC to start the boosting process??
Then what is the purpose of I2C lines in the ic ? PWM pin is enough for dimming then purpose of I2C lines are?
We are currently working with this IC (MPQ3367). This IC has internal boost circuit.
I give more details for your understanding,
1)MIX/AD [pin no :2] pin is in floating condition.
2)FREQ/SYNC [pin no :3] pins connected to ground via 44.2k resistor ,in use of 44.2k only we get 500kHz frequency.am I right?
I measure the voltage between SW and GND ,it will show 12V only, I think the internal Mosfet is not switching…
when i will get boosted output (above 18V) at pin SW ??
All the 4 registers are having their default value, then why boosting is not happen??
