MPM54304: Newer RFSoC Question

I need additional assistance in completing the RFSoC design with MPM54304 converter. In the EVREF0102A power module design for the Zynq UltraScale+ RFSoC using MPM3632C to output 0.925V. In this document, it references a ‘filter’ that reduced the ripple size down to ~0.57 mVpp - referencing the old RFSoC - and the newer models requires 0.25 mVpp.
My question is, which small scale filter was used to reduce the ripple to 0.57 mV (part number, data sheet, etc), and what recommendation you have to hit that 0.25 mVpp ripple.

Thank you

Hi Colin,

Which document are you referring to that demonstrates a 0.25mVpp output ripple?

Hello Tyler, - i accidentally replied in the wrong spot

The value was obtained from the excel sheet called Schematic Review Checklist for the ZU48DR from AMD: it is also attainable from UG583: AMD Technical Information Portal
If you would search either “ADC_AVCC” or ‘ripple’, you should be able to get to the page as well.

Thank you

Hi Colin,

The EVREF0102A has an optional LDO filter for the ADC_AVCC rail. Check to see if it is there as this can be used to get the 0.25mVpp ripple. Furthermore, you may need to adjust the input voltage to take into account for the dropout voltage across the LDO filter.

Tyler

Would you mind giving me the schematic for EVREF0102A?

Thank you

please read the above

Hi Colin,

Yes, please submit a ticket for the schematic here:
