MPM3840 - Pin 19 and 20

Hi, I’m checking a PCB design where my colleague had connected pins 19 and 20 of the MPM3840 chip to GND.
I would like to know what impact this could have on the behavior of the chip.
In the datasheet, it only says “No Connect”. But what are these pins actually for?

Thanks a lot.

Hi Ediaz,

Thank you for posting to the MPS Technical Forum! Pins 19 and 20 are part of a keep-out zone where there should not be any connections, vias or wires. There is information on this on page 18 of the datasheet.

Hi Isabella
Exactly, that’s what it says. We mistakenly connected it to GND, and our concern is whether the chip will still work properly or not. Changing the design at this point would be very costly.
Also, could you please clarify what pins 19 and 20 are for?
Thanks in advance!

I apologize for the delay in my response, I was checking with our design team about this issue. Unfortunately, there cannot be any connections (including GND) in the keep-out zone around pins 19 and 20 as it will interfere with the part’s functionality.
