Is it possible to parallel the MPM38222’s two 2A outputs to form a single 4A output?

Is there a reason why you would not want to check out a single 4A output module? One such device is the MPM3840.

Hi Vinh,

Our motivation is to reduce the number of unique parts on the BOM, since we are already planning to use the MPM38222 for other power rails in the system. Of course, if it is not possible to parallel the two outputs, we would consider a single 4A module instead.

Hello Kyle,

You may be parallel the outputs for 4A. However, it is not recommended to do so. The device was not meant be used in that way and there may be damaged caused to it. The output may also have very bad characteristics due to timings not being synchronized.

The best solution would be to use a 4A device.
