MPM36X0 AGND to PGND Connection

For the MPM3610AGQV, MPM3620AGQV and MPM3620GQV devices, in each specification the AGND pinout states:

Analog Ground. Reference ground of logic circuit. AGND is internally connected to PGND. There is no need to add external connections to PGND.

In the Rev 1.01 01/18/2018 version of MPM3630GQV specification the AGND pinout states:

Analog Ground. Reference ground of logic circuit. AGND is internally connected to PGND. There is no need to add external connections to PGND.

In the Rev 1.02 05/26/2020 version of MPM3630GQV specification the AGND pinout states:

Analog ground. Reference ground of the logic circuit. It needs to be connected to PGND on PCB layout.

Can anyone confirm that the MPM3630 AGND does need an external connection to PGND? Why the change in specification information between 2018 and 2020? Why is this one family module different that all the rest?

Can anyone confirm if there is an issue if the AGND is connected externally to PGND for the other pin compatible devices, such as the MPM3610AGQV, MPM3620AGQV and MPM3620GQV?

Matt

Hi matt.motier,

Please connect the PGND and AGND separately. That is the best way to get compatibility across all the three modules.
