MPC12106 parallel operiton

How can I use the PMC12106 in parallel?

Hello,

While it isn’t in the typical application, you could parallel the MPC12106 by combining the VOUT and GND pins of your two modules. Do so at your own risk as MPS has not vetted this recommendation with tests. What is your end application for this?

I noticed the Special Features of MPC12106 show it supports Parallel Operation.

.
but I don’t know how it deal with the current sharing between two or more modules.
And I want to use two MPC12106 modules in parallel Operation providing more than 130A output current and then I can using the mutiphase convert to provide more than 2000A output current at 0.8V.

Apologies for the confusion, I was more focused on the typical application as referenced in the datasheet. Parallel operation should be the case with connecting VOUT and GND pins together.

However, I will look into this application internally and get back to you on this thread regarding current sharing at the levels that you have specified. Thank you for your patience.

Best,
Krishan

I have gotten word back from out AE Team regarding current sharing capabilities.

The MPC12106 is open loop. When multiple modules are connected in parallel, passive current sharing will be achieved by an RLL snubber, which should provide current sharing for parallel IGBTs where the series inductors decrease the rate of current change upon switches turning on and off.

Hope this helped,
Krishan
