MP9928 Current Limit

The MP9928 Datasheet EC table mentions a valley current limit but this is not described again anywhere in the datasheet. Is this simply another comparison point for the current limit that occurs when the high-side turns on and/or the low side turns off?

Hi Tim,
Thank you for utilizing the MPS Technical Forum.

Correct, the valley current limit is a comparison point for the current limit. The LS switch current is sensed while conducting across R7 or the SENSE+ and SENSE- pins and once it reaches the valley current limit. The LS switch turns off and HS switch conducts.
