Hi, pins 3 and 10 of the MP9842 both have the SW function. Is it preferable to connect them together on the PCB to reduce impedance? Thanks.

Pin 3 and pin 10 are internally connected so connecting together on layout or not are both ok.
An advantage to leaving pin 3 as floating is to have a shorter input hot loop from pin 1 (PHASE) to pin 4 (PGND) as is shown in the example recommended PCB layout below:
