Hi. I want to use this IC for a 16V house keeping supply, where the input will be nominal 65V. Is ok for this IC to go for this output voltage? I don’t see a problem since it is a buck converter and it should be ok as long as the output voltage is lower then the input.
Only references and applications I see however are for 5V or 3.3V, so this made me wonder.
Thank you all in advance.
Hello,
Yes, the MP9486 can output 16V. You need to use the feedback resistors according to the formula specified in the datasheet.
Datasheet:
https://www.monolithicpower.com/en/documentview/productdocument/index/version/2/document_type/Datasheet/lang/en/sku/MP9486/
For you application you may use R1=790k and R2=10k.
Let us know if this works.

Yash Shah
Thank you for the quick response. When I test the boards I will inform you with the results.
