MP8796 Max V Out

Hi is there any technical reason why we cant set Max V out to 6-8v on this? Especially with a 15v Vin?

I dont see any limitation on min on time for switchers in datasheet which is usually what limits max output voltage.

Even at 8v out (assuming 15v in) that falls well within the on/off limits of the switcher which would have a max duty cycle ~ 85%

Hello,

For this component we recommend outputting between 0.6-6V.
I believe that the reason it is capped at 6V is to protect the internal logic systems inside the IC.

Please see the block diagram for more information.
