MP8017 VBUS Extra DC/DC Converter

Is it acceptable to connect an external buck converter off of the VBUS output on the MP8017. I don’t see why it wouldn’t be, but want to confirm.

Theoretically yes, there should be no issue with this. So long as you are within the recommended VDD range as highlighted below:
