This particular figure is used for applications where an auxiliary power source, such as a wall adapter, is used to power the device.
To make the MP8003A work stably with adapter power, one Schottky diode (DADP1) is required between the negative terminal of the adapter and VSS. DADP2 is used to block reverse current between the adapter and PSE power source. These cannot be omitted unless you do not plan to use a wall adapter.
