MP6951 TW setting

My understanding is that if I place a 0 Ohm resistor (or short the TW pin to GND), this would make TW=0, Since this time window is used to distinguish the duration of ringing from a true conduction event, does setting TW=0, effectively disable the time-window-based distinction part of the intelligent ringing detection feature, Still operating in Low gate charge mode?I did this in my experiment. Because I was afraid of the machine crashing, I first looked at the actual primary side conduction time.

Hi xyzduC,

To clarify, are you asking if it is possible to disable the VDS ringing detection time window?

Thank you,
Isabella

Yes, if TW is connected to ground with a 0 ohm resistor, will it operate in low gate charge mode (disable the VDS ringing detection time window)?

Thank you for the clarification. I’m checking with our team about this and will get back to you soon.

Waiting for your reply.

I apologize for the delay. If you would like to have the MP6951 always operate in low gate charge mode, it is actually recommended to make the TW resistor value very large or even leave the TW pin open.
