We are using the MP6004 as a flyback DC/DC Converter from 24V to 5V, very similar to your reference design. We have the problem that at 1kV Burst the regulator keeps restarting all the time. We are using Y-caps against Earth and a common mode choke but there is no improvement. Do you have any suggestions how to improve the immunity? Thanks

The MP6004 is rated for an absolute maximum rating of 100V input. I don’t think this an issue with noise, I believe the 1kV burst is triggering the over voltage protection, causing it to restart.
I would recommend using TVS diode as protection for the input.
