MP5515 EC temperature condition

Hi,
I have a question, The MP5515 datasheet indicates Tj=-40~125C, and the typical values is tested at Tj=25C, unless otherwise noted. Does this mean that the IC’s EC can guarantee compliance with the specifications at Tj=-40~125C ? If so, why isn’t the part number MPQ5515? What is the different between MP and MPQ in MPS datasheet? How are the datasheets named as MP or MPQ?

Thanks!

Hello, welcome to the MPS Forums!

Correct, the MP5515 does indicate an operating junction temperature range of -40C - 125C and that means that the IC would generally agree with being operational from this temperature range.

The difference between MP (commercial) and MPQ (industrial) prefixes can sometimes include the temperature ranges and are also named as such.

We at MPS have some industrial and automotive products that operate up to 150C where commercial goods typically will max out at 85C - 125C for the operating junction temperature. There are also other more strict testing procedures that go into both industrial and automotive testing procedures as well.

Hopefully I answered your questions. Please reach back if there are any more.

Best,
Krishan
