Hi MPS,
we are very interested in the MP5493 to integrate in our power solution.
- I can’t find an Evaluation Board for the MP5493. Is it available on request only?
To support our evaluation, we would greatly appreciate a complimentary evaluation board. If required, we are happy to work with a German distributor such as Endrich or Codico for production orders.
We have already purchased some sample parts in case that there is no evaluation board available.
If the device proves suitable for our application, we anticipate annual production volumes of approximately 10,000 units.
Questions to Discharging/Boost Mode
- From the datasheet a 3.3V / 0.6A Output is shown on page 12. We would need 5V / 0.5A
- What will be the max. output current for 5V output?
- Is the output under this max. current conditions stable until ~1,2V SuperCap voltage (minimum feedback voltage). Could this be improved to reach a lower minimum discharge voltage e.g. ~0,7V
Questions to Charging Mode
- The maximum charging current is quite low. Is there any extra circuit possilbe to increase it? I’m thinking about to place in parallel a current source, limited to voltage below 2.65V, decoupled with the use of a diode to the Vout2 (charger output). It’s just an quick idea… for sure not as easy to be done…
Application Needs
We have an input voltage delivered from a buck-converter in first stage, due to an input voltage that may reach 60V..
After the buck, the MP5493 should now ouput the 5V / 0.25A (stable) system voltage. If a higher power output would be achievable it is welcome (0.6A would be great).
I prefer not to discuss the intended end application in detail in this public forum, but would be happy to get a direct email conversation to an field application engineer that could assist to find the best solution for our needs.
Thanks for your response in advance.
