MP5475GU - power on I2C signal requirements

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for clarification on the requirements to start the switching outputs on this device. If a factory part is pre-programmed to set SYSEN to 1, do I need to set it to 1 in the I2C register myself to start the supplies again when I boot them up? Please let me know because I’m trying to use this supply without I2C.

Thanks,

Tony

Hey Troy!

No worries. If the SYSEN bit is already set to 1 by default in the configuration of the MP5475 that you have, then there is no need to set this through I2C.

Verified that SYSEN = 1 by default on page 36 of the MP5475 datasheet.

Hope this provided some insight to your question. This is a highly configurable part. I would recommend running through all settings of all registers to verify if all default settings align with your application.

Best,

Krishan

Hi Krishan,

Thank you for the clarification. I understand it now and I’ll check all the settings again. We plan to order a custom part number with multiple non-default configuration values.

Tony
