Hi team,
I plan to use MP5077 load switch with a current limit of1.15A.
Should I use :
- 2x22µF on the VIN pin
- 2x22µF on the Vout pin
As described in typical application schematic, or low-value capacitors allowed??
Are there any recommended minimum values for input and output capacitors when the load switch is confirgured with a “small” current limitation (1.15A)?
Thanks.
Best Regards.
Sylvain
Hello Sylvain,
This is a schematic of the typical application from the MP5077 datasheet, which is perfectly fine to use:
I suppose you can use lower value capacitors in place of the 22uF ones at the input/output, but it is important to test and see if the ripple at the input/output is acceptable for your application.
It looks like the lowest current limit that can be adjusted here comes to almost 1.5A or less. Although you could perhaps get away with 1.15A with ~55kOhms - 57kOhms, but this should be tested before implemented.
