MP5031 using without I2C

Hi,

I wonder if we can use MP5031 without configuring its registers with I2C ? Can we set the charging voltage/current with putting external resistors ? And if we want to use MP5031 with MP4245 and connect the I2C line between them, should we do some IC register programming before that or they just communicate with each other without any preliminary configuration ?

Thanks

Hello oylaromer,

It does not seem like you are able to configure externally with resistors. I2C would be used. I think this part actually just detects the usb-c device that is connected and then will communicate with the dc-dc converter it is paired with. Based on the following screenshot I do not think you need to configure MP5031 to communicate with the MP4245.
