Hi,

i have a question regarding ordering MP4248 + MP5031. Is the slave adress of MP4248 limited to 0x67 if i want to access it with I2C master MP5031 ? Or does the MP5031 scan other devices on the bus?

Is it possible to use MP5031GRE-00A3-Z + MP4248GQV-0012-P ?

Is it possible to user either MP4248GQV-0000, MP4248GQV-0011, MP4248GQV-0012 with MP5031GRE-00A3-Z because of the I2C address?

Hi Dominik,

Thank you for your question. The MP4248 is an OTP (One Time Programmable) part. You could adjust the first 5 bits of the slave address as shown in the table below obtained from the datasheet, but once you power cycle, the register would go back to its default configuration.

In reference to MFR_CTRL4 register:

On the other hand, the MP5031 is compatible with MP4248-xxxx parts, so all the ones mentioned above could be used. Just keep in mind that the default slave address varies as below:

  • MP4248-0000 I2C slave address is 67h by default

  • MP4248-0011 I2C slave address is 67h by default

  • MP4248-0012 I2C slave address is 68h by default
