Can MP4572 chip be used for getting negative output? The idea is using the chip as buck converter and connecting output to ground. The other end of the output will be negative voltage rail and all the pins will refer to negative voltage rail.

I think any Buck converter can be used in this way. So long as you pay attention to voltage and current stress which is higher in this configuration ( non isolated flyback) and is Iin + Iout and Vin+Vout for the semiconductor switches.

Yes, you can connect the buck converter to get a negative output. Just be aware the efficiency might be slightly decreased.

for sure decrease because the semiconductor switches see more current, for a given output current so more loss relative to the output power.
