MP4248GQV-0012-P not started

Hello, I have my own board based on the MP4248. The I²C interface is working — the registers can be read and written.

However, the output voltage is 0.6 V with no load. When a load is connected, there are pulses at the output as shown in the picture (as if it is operating in current limit mode).

When I write to VOUT_COMMAND, the output voltage does not change.

The STATUS_WORD is 0x5010.

The current consumption from the power supply is 13 mA.

What could be the problem?

Hi @hch_84 ,

There is no image in your original post; can you please repost the picture showing the waveform? Your STATUS_WORD being 0x5010 indicates that there’s an output over-current fault occurring.

Can you also share the following:

  1. Schematic including discrete part numbers and values.
  2. Expected VIN range and VOUT.
  3. Load power/current.
  4. Switching frequency.
  5. Forced PWM or automatic PWM/PFM mode.
  6. Any other modifications made to the registers.

Thanks,
Rubas
