MP4245 and MP5031 part variants for 60W output from 8 - 13V input

Hi,

I would like to ask which part variants (MP5031GRE-xxxx, MP4245GVE-xxxx) would be required for up to a 60W USB-C PD output from an 8 - 13V input, following this reference design:

For the required part variants, could you please send the configuration tables for the registers so that I can determine whether this part can be used without programming in my application? Can this reference design be directly copied for a fully working 60W USB-PD source from a 8V - 13V input, or are there any other safety / configuration settings I might need to add?

Thank you so much, have a great day.

Hello haase.industries,

The MP5031 will detect the device that is connected and establish a contract. It would need to determine what is appropriate for the device then it will reconfigure the DC-DC converter (MP4245) to support this. So given this information the device would need to be reconfigured in order to be able to supply 60W. I have still provided the configurations for the different suffixes available.

The MP5031 would require configuring the slave device from the slave_device_sel register shown below. Given that the MP4245 is part of MP424x it should not need to reconfigured as this is the default.

Thank you

Hi Eduardo,

Thank you for your reply. I will send the schematic here for review when I finish it, if that’s ok. I will be using the 0000 variant of MP4245 and the 00A3 variant of MP5031.

Have a great day!

Kind regards,

Rain.
