MP3900 Boost Supply for 28V output

Hi there,

I want to use the MP3900 for my Boost supply. My Input is 12V and Output requirement is 28V. In the datasheet Output voltage is mentioned 25V everywhere but since it is adjustable, Can i adjust this for 28V. Or are there any limitations with this requirement?

Thanks,
Priyanka

Hi
See Application Information section in datasheet.
There is all that you need for calculation and component selection

Hey @pkumari ,

DS references 25Vout a bunch since that is an application we believe to be most common. This part is meant for applications where Vout is less than 30V, so 28V should be fine.
We also have evaluation boards for you to order and play around with to make sure this part is the right fit for your application!
Just make sure to not exceed the Absolute Maximum Ratings listed on pg 2.

Thanks That was helpful

In our application, the MP3900 provides a 30V power supply to an audio power amplifier. how should ISENSE be handled?

Hello wfliu,

I wanted to clarify that you require 30V and the datasheet for this part states for output voltages less than 30V. You should size the FET appropriately for output.

To answer your question, Isense should be handled by appropriately sizing Rsense. The equations for appropriately sizing this resistor are located on page 7 of the datasheet.
