Hi Team,
We are working on a medical-grade device. Our LED illumination board uses the MP3431GL-P boost converter to drive three strings of warm-white LEDs (OSRAM KW CSLPM1.TG, 3 LEDs per string in series). We are experiencing two related issues and would appreciate guidance on the correct approach.
- How to properly configure ILIM to support high pulse current for LED applications?
- Is MP3431 suitable for high peak current LED flash applications, or should we consider a constant current driver?
- What is the recommended inductor value and current rating for this use case?
- How to avoid output voltage drop under pulsed load?
- Any recommended reference design for high brightness LED flash using MP3431GL-P?
Additional concern: when we scope VOUT during a sequential three-strip flash cycle, we observe a small but measurable sag on VOUT at the start of each flash event.
We would appreciate your guidance on improving brightness and ensuring uniform intensity across LED channels.
Thank you for your support.
Best regards,
Selva
