MP3426 reference voltage

HI,

I use the MP3426DL-LF-Z as a battery voltage booster. Everything works fine, except that the output voltage is 12V instead of 24V. I behaves as if the feedback voltage is 0/61 V instead the 1.22V as specified. Any suggestions on what might be wrong?

I have the impression that it is not possible to design a 24V 5A booster with the MP3426 chip.

The DC DC convertor online tool is also not giving a solution.

Please advice.

Hi Jan,

Thank you for posting to the MPS Technical Forum. You are correct, the MP3426 is not capable of outputting 24V at 5A as the 6A rating refers to the internal switch’s current rating. The typical output current capabilities can be found on the efficiency graph on the first page of the datasheet. In this case, the MP3426’s maximum output current is typically 0.6-1A, depending on the input voltage. An alternative option for a 24V/5A output would be a boost controller such as the MP3446U.

Best,
