Hi Experts,
The MP28167-A has OTP( * One-Time Programmable (OTP) Non-Volatile Memory)
That means that we could customize the settings shown on P23 of the datasheet, right ?
For example, if I need AUTO PFM/PWM mode, MPS could programmed it to AUTO PFM/PWM for me directly from their factory, right ?
Hi @alan_liu,
You can program it through I2C. If you want to it program it at the factory please reach out using MPS NOW Technical Support form: MPS NOW Technical Support - Contact
Thank you

Hi, so how to program OTP through I2C? Because datasheet doesn’t mention a word about that.
Hi @u4p6gf9nr,
You can use the EVKT-USBI2C-02 to “configure” the OTP settings using our GUI. However, after power cycle it will go back to the default settings since it is only one time programmable.
Thank you.
Saurabh
I can configure I2C registers with any micro controller, but that’s not what OTP means. Even datasheet says that OTP “ROM”/"Default " settings are loaded at POR.
On the main page of datasheet OTP is mentioned as a feature. Default VREF settings is a joke, especially for USB PD application (datasheet recommendation).
Hi @u4p6gf9nr,
Yes OTP is feature in terms of if you want have a your required setting on power up. So, MPS can factory program it rather than the customer sending the OTP configuration on every power up. Most often time in production phase, customers generally do not change the OTP table. This way you can avoid having MCU on your board.
Thank you
Saurabh
Hi u4p6gf9nr,
OTP stands for One-Time-Programmable. The default VREF settings are associated with a specific -xxxx suffix that contains an already pre-programmed configuration for the I2C registers and therefore are no longer able to be “OTP”.
If the desire is to OTP on your own, you’d need to order blank devices that haven’t used up the NVM page yet to set the I2C registers.
We’d recommend if this is for a product you’re building for your company, to kindly reach out to MPSNow Support for assistance. Through here, we can work on better understanding your requirements, sending you an EVB that you can use to evaluate your desired settings, and once finalized, we can work on seeing what pre-programmed options we can send to you for the production schedule of your design. Thanks.
