MP2790 registers

Hi,

when I export the register settings from the MP2790 GUI more registers (24) are stored in the file than I can write to the MPS. Means in the exported file are register addresses which are not in the datasheet.

Any idea?

Best,

Achim

Do you have an image that you can show of what you are seeing here?

These could be reserved registers that are a byproduct of the setup of the registers and/or settings that can’t be written, but I am curious as to what you are seeing exactly.

Hi Krishan,

this is a part of my export from the MP2790 GUI:

0000 0 A0 160 REGA0 0001 1
0000 0 A1 161 REGA1 0043 67

0000 0 A5 165 REGA5 0000 0
0000 0 A6 166 REGA6 0000 0
0000 0 A7 167 REGA7 00F8 248

0000 0 E6 230 REGE6 E68F 59023
0000 0 E7 231 REGE7 0111 273

0000 0 EC 236 REGEC E410 58384
0000 0 ED 237 REGED 10F5 4341

In this address range a lots of registers are not in the table in the datasheet on page 45.

My plan is to find out the right values for all with the GUI, export them and then set the same values with my microcontroller. Hence I need to know what to do with the registers not contained in the datasheet.

Best regards,

Achim

Thanks for sharing this register dump. Let me sift through and compare with the datasheet and any other system level architecture sources so I can verify just what we are looking at here,

In the meantime, has the MP2790 been operating well for you?

These registers that you are seeing don’t appear in the MP2790 datasheet because they are internal and reserved addresses that are used by MPS evaluation, firmware, and GUI purposes for configuration suffix -0000 (the default version of this MP2790).

They aren’t on the datasheet because they simply aren’t meant for end-user control. Only program documented registers as specified in the datasheet.

Best,

Krishan

Hi Krishan,

thanks a lot for the clarification! Yes the MP2790 is working well in our first prototypes….

But I think the GUI from MPS is a little buggy concerning the voltages and currents. The displayed values have more digits than in the datasheet / relevant. (for OV, UV, OC, UC)

Best regards,

Achim
