MP2760 Battery OC fault

Hi,
I have been evaluating the MP2760 battery charger. From it being fully working at one point, something happened to the dev kit and now it is always returning a BFET_OC_FAULT. I don’t know how to fix this fault, Any ideas?

Just to add, the BATTERY_OC occurs when there is no input voltage and system voltage is generated from VBATT.
The BATTERY_OC clears when i connect the VIN, but the battery does not charge even though the battery voltage is less than 15.5 volts, for a 4 cell Li-ion battery.

Hello @aamirqureshi,

Welcome to MPS forums. What is the input voltage to the chip. If possible, can you also share the schematic?

Input voltage is 13V. I am using the EV2760-VT-00A, this is the evaluation kit for MP2760 from MPS.
Battery is a 4S2P, li ion battery pack. Nominal voltage = 14.4V, full voltage=16.8V.

Hello @aamirqureshi,

Thank you for sharing this information. I have asked our product experts and will get back to you.

Hello @aamirqureshi,

What is the software version of MP2760 GUI you are using? I replicated the test conditions you shared and didn’t see the BFET_OC_FAULT error on my end.

Hi.
I have managed to get rid of the error. I will continue testing. Thanks for your support.

Hello @aamirqureshi,

Glad to hear you were able to get rid of the error. I will be closing this thread for now. Please post a new inquiry if you face any issues with reference to this post.
