MP2759 ICC is lower than designed (instead of 2A getting 1A)

Hi,
What could be potential reasons to get a lower ICC than designed?

Here’s my setup:
ISET - 48.7kohm (96k/48.7k = 1.97A)
ILIM - 26.1kohm (80k/26.1k = 3.06A)
VB - 32kohm (4.0V/cell)
CELL - VCC (6S)
VIN = 28[V]
VLIM = 0.95*VIN = 27[V]

I even placed NTC 10k serial to 10k to make sure Im not limited by the JEITA temperature limitation.

Hi Leroy,
Our apologies for delayed response and missing your request on the forum,
are you able to share your schematic?

Best,
Nouman

The battery could be near full charge

Hi John,
Good idea, however, I do not believe the battery near full charge would be the case here. as you might already know on the typical charge profile, for batteries near full charge, the charger operates in a CV mode and CC tapers off… until it reaches termination current.

Here, it appears its charging at 1A instead of 2A that the user had set it too. For ICC setting, its basically ISET pin, so we can check there first.

Best,
