I’m designing a 2S battery charger with a MP2733, I was wondering if an external balanced circuit is mandatory . ?

Have you a solution ? , Is a BQ29209 is suitable ?

The MP2733 is a part designed as a single cell charger so I think you would see issues in your design. Can you share what your input voltage would be and your nominal cell voltages? With this info we should be able to provide you a better option.

The nominal input of the charger is 12V , i using LI-ION cell that have a nominal voltage of 3.65V / 4.2 V max
The disc Pin function of the MP2733 is very usefull for our application .
Can you advice me a suitable charger ?
I think something like the MP2650 is going to be the closest option. This has a minimum of 3.7V/cell. This doesn’t have disc pin but you can turn battfet on and off with i2c
