I am hoping to confirm if the I2C bus on this DC/DC is compatible with 1.8V levels? I have a low power microcontroller running off a 1.8V supply and I would like to interface without the use of level shifters (for cost efficiency and board space).

Thank you for visiting the MPS Technical Forum. Please see from Pg. 10 of the datasheet the Electrical Characteristics table below. The SDA/SCL pins can support up to 5V, but it just so happens the pull-up voltage sample condition we use in the table is also 1.8V

You can have a simple bi-directional level shifter with a single dual mosfet for the I2C, and never have to worry about the different voltage levels.
