MP2723A for device with active USB comms?

I am designing a USB 2.0 FS device with Li-ion battery. The device requires an active USB connection, explicitly: enumerated and data flowing over D+/D-. I understand that MP2723A will perform BC1.2 detection on the USB port using D+/D-. Will it release D+/D- so that the device can enumerate?

Hi epstein80,

Thanks for posting on the MPSNow Forum.
It looks like once DP/DM detection is complete, the status register bits (VIN_STAT) changes and an INT pulse is sent to the host.
From what I understand in the datasheet, it does seem DP/DM gets released, because once it knows it’s connected to USB, it will change the current limit according to the appropriate protocol.

Thanks,
Cindy
