MP2723 OTG function improvement

Hello community,

I’m using the OTG function of MP2723, it can charge my smartphone, only when the smartphone is turned off, otherwise the charging is stopped. I see it’s because of the VIN

is there any solution to prevent this, since for the normal powerbank, it shall be able to charge the smartphone, even if the smartphone is turned on.
Any suggestion? thanks in advance.

Best regards
Danny

Hello Danny,

I will have to check with our team for potential reasons for behavior.

You are suspecting the phone is providing too high of an input voltage, have you confirmed this with a measurement?

Hi @eduardo.FAE

thanks for the reply.
Sorry for the late response.

Good question. Thanks for asking this.
For me it’s difficult to check the voltage output from the smartphone. I just observe this phenomennon: since Iphone will turn on when it reachs the minimum battery level, after the iphone is turned on, I see no charging any more, if I manually turn off the Iphone, the charging starts again. Also tested with Android phones, it’s same. Then I go back to the datasheet of MP2723 and find this.
Could you please double check it with your DevKit.
