Is it possible to use the use the MP2722 completely without a battery and only use the PD and BC1.2 charger detection and DRP functionality? I’m designing a product that doesn’t use a battery but can be powered by USB (along with PoE) and needs 1,5A at 5V So it should only boot up with either PD or BC1.2 chargers that can handle the current. The MP2722 has a very easy to read out max current I2C register that all dedicated (non BGA) charger detectors without integrated battary chargers that I was able to finde seem to lack.

I don’t believe you can use this without a battery because of the BATT_MISSING detection. If you don’t need the battery and are looking for USB solutions, we do have controllers and regulators you can check out on our website.
